Creating a new project
After launching Oracle Forms Converter, you need to create a new project or open an existing one. Every saved project includes connection settings without the user name and password. This page shows how you can create a new project.
First, click the New… button at the top left corner of the application window.
Oracle Forms Converter then displays the New project window.
You can run Oracle Forms Converter in two modes:
- Use Binary Files if you have only binaries of your modules(*.fmb, *.olb, *.pll, etc) and installed Oracle Forms & Reports. In the Binary Files mode, the Oracle Forms & Reports v.9i or higher must be installed on your computer. The Oracle Forms Converter will try to read the ORACLE_HOME system variable. You can specify the ORACLE_HOME manually.
- Use XML Files if you converted your binaries into plain text files (*.xml, *.pld), or learn more how to do it. In the XML Files mode, you must specify the path to the folders with XML and PLD files.
Check out the following pages (Binary Files, XML Files) to learn how to create a new project of a selected type.
Finally, specify the type of source files you want to use and press the Create button to create a new project.
