Connecting to a Sybase IQ database
Use the following procedure to connect to your Sybase IQ database:
Click on the New icon in the Project panel at the top left corner of the window.
Select Sybase IQ in the Platform drop-down list at the top of the dialog box.
If the Sybase IQ ODBC Driver is not installed on your PC, you will need to install it. For more information, see Installing the Required Database Drivers.
After installing the driver, restart the DataBase Compare Suite application and get back to item # 1.
Select the Standard option in the Mode drop-down list should you want to connect to the Sybase IQ database in the standard mode.
Specify the Server name in the appropriate field. You can enter it manually or select it from the drop-down list (if it has been used already).
Provide the rest of connection information to the Sybase IQ database: Server Port and Username. You can enter these values manually or select them from drop-down lists.
Enter the Password to fill in the information about Sybase IQ database connection.
Press the Test button
to verify that you can successfully connect to your Greenplum database.
Select the ConnectionString option in the Mode drop-down list if you want to connect to the Greenplum database using the connection string.
Enter the Connection string manually or select it from the drop-down list (if it has already been used).
Find the connection string template below. Use it as an example to create a connection string that allows to connect to your Sybase IQ database:
Driver={Sybase IQ};Host=sybaseiq_server;UserID=sybaseiq_user;Password=pass;AppInfo=DB Best Database Compare Suite;Connection Timeout=300;
Press the Test button
to verify that you can successfully connect to your Sybase IQ database.
